I have something similar, but is a geisha and a girl with a fan. It is also signed, but with an different marks, same red x box around the signature. Unfortunly your piece is missing an umbella. It is a Japanese okimono with polychrome. Because it is signed by the artist that gives it some good value. If you did some research on the artist made you might find a value and the date. During the Meiji period, many Okimono were made for export to the west. If it is ivory of course it is worth more than resin. There is a lot of copies made out made out of resin. I think, if you want to know the value the keys is the artist name, if it resin or ivory, and quality of the polychrome.

      That's definitely resin.
