Here we have three different coloured Bohemian art glass rose bowls that are mould blown with a multi-textured, "Fine Rib" decor pattern though out. The base on each example has a ground pontil, and the rim has a crimped edge with eight "hand tooled" ruffles. The 1900 Austrian advertisement is from the West Virginia Museum of American Glass, Monograph No. 12 on the subject of "Marketing Glass in America." From the advertisement, only the rose coloured rose bowl is offered and came in three different sizes. Hard to tell from the photos, but the blue and rose tinted rose bowls are spreading colours. At the rim, there is the darker shade fading into a lighter shade. Maker is not 100% confirmed. Chances are these rose bowls were produced from Kralik since it is known their wares were being imported to America and sold through Butler Brother catalogs. However, there could be another contender as well.

The photo with the green iridescent rose bowl is complimented with a cased spangle egg shaped rose bowl with spreading rose colours. This example is most likely Bohemian as well. The two separate pink flowers are from Kralik floriform vases that arrived broken and I saved the flowers for decoration.

Nice pieces. Maybe it could be Rindskopf?
    2. glassiegirl glassiegirl, 6 months ago
Perhaps, and I can understand for the green iridescent example, but the other two not so much. Never seen any Rindskopf identified or advertised in the Butler Brothers catalogs.

Glad you agree. Thank you, Larksel for the compliment too. GMTA!

The undulating form is heightened by the fading of colours and seeing the top opening of the vase adds to the living form aspect. Seeing the advertisement drawings you get the distancing the eye has to the real deal. Superb example 1~

      How sweet they are.
Loving your staging and photos too.

I can’t get over the prices!
And I thought the price was “for each”, no, for 1/3 dozen, about .55 a piece!
Let’s all go back in time and go shopping!
( that goes for jewelry too, ha!)
