A lovely gift from my dear friend Share is this gorgeous 1960's-70's Lucite cuff bracelet. Heavy, but comfortable - 2" wide and .5/8" thick. We had so much fun yesterday in old downtown Pomona, California. Nothing was open but loved driving around with Share looking at cool old churches and buildings, old trees and rose gardens!

I would love to go driving with you and Share. What a hoot!
Nice fat cuff you have there. Unscratched too!

Awe yes and our Karen! We want you to come visit too!!! We would all have such a blast! I always enjoy spending time with Mary. We are alike, yet different which compliments each other so well! And that gigantic tree next to the church had huge cotton balls all over it! I had no idea cotton grew on trees like that! I was just amazed. Those windows and the building and the rose garden were all amazing!!! And guess what Mary, the thrift was open today! We missed it by a day or two. But we will catch it open again. It's my all time fav hot spot.

Oh and by the way, that bracelet is one that would be in my dish of treasures along with everything else, and you see, it has no damage.

And back to Karen for a minute... get yo bum out here!!! I've got plenty of room for us all to stay and the flights are not very expensive right now either. Perfect weather right now too. I see glass all the time that you'd love for near nothing!!!

Just wanted to add, I have more picks of the garden with unbelievable aromatic scents and the most beautiful roses with some thick bases, you know they are just super old, also the size of the thorns are plenty, and yes, when I was a kid I fell in one just like it and still have a couple scars from that! I will show the pics in a post as soon as I get done with all the upgrades going on around here... my everything is so darn sore. Today I painted inside that hall closet that still smelled like moth balls, I sure hope the kilz oder and sealer takes care of it all. That's the worse smell ever but I double coated it and will do it again tomorrow if I have to. Anything to get rid of that stink! Got two rooms and the hallway almost done tho! Yay!!!

Not allowed to leave Aus at the moment for non urgent business cos they wouldn’t let me back in. Shut border ya know, but it’s kept our death rate at a bit over 100. Yes 100. No thousands.
I’m sure lovely things are still happening over there but we don’t get anything from the States at present that’s good.
Death, riots, malignant narcissist orange leader, that’s It.
      Keep well friends.

Pure insanity over here, no doubt. It's hard to comprehend when you watch TV. Yesterday, we got an alarm on all cell phones that curfew is now 6pm to 6am. Five minutes later, or not even that long, another came over the waves saying 5pm to 6am. Wonder what today will bring. All this bs is reminding me of the Watts riots back in the 60's. I remember that clearly. The threat now is they are going into residential homes... if that's the case, a lot more people are going to die, no doubt. Maybe Mary and I will come to your neighborhood and live there... sounds good to me.

Only 100 deaths, wow! That's a great thing. Over here now if you go into a doc's office they are making you take your gloves off! And that's IF you can get in. So much cross contamination! This is all just too much! You stay safe too!

Karen, yes it was a great day of "almost open" - only a few days later and more was open, but we had a great catch up and this sightseeing trip. I went out to hear live music and actually eat in a restaurant on Sunday and on the way home my cell phone had curfew alerts for every city we drove by. Long Beach is in the news as the place where cops stood by and watched looters "bust out" of a boarded up store with their loot and people standing buy cheering them on. Believe me, this isn't how most of us in my neighborhood 8 blocks away feel about the "peaceful protest and the looting that followed". We are pretty dam mad. It's 1 pm curfew in that area, and 4 pm rest of Long Beach.

So sorry, and we all hope you stay safe and can return to peace soon. XX

Share - is it better this week? I went out Sat. and heard a great Springsteen tribute band, sat safely out on the patio. It was not crowded - but no one inside had masks on which was a little sad. Even the band commented and sprayed lysol after every 15 minutes....ha ha!

Karen - thanks and yes it is sad to go through. So many want to get out. I went on a 4 mile hike yesterday - lots of people, but also good to be out in the fresh air!

Elisabeth - I saw one like this in a research book for $175!! But, who would pay that much? This one is definitely a nice piece of "ice". XOXO

Thanks for the loves: kwqd, Phil, Thomas, fort, Jenni, aura, Anything, Ken, Lori, Kevin, fussbudget, mcheoni, glassiegirl! XOXO

Holy crap!!! That cuff is worth that much!!! Lol!!! It’s clean as a whistle if I recall correctly too!!! And it feels so great on, but I just wouldn’t wear it besides, I did buy it for you in the first place!!! It only took two years to get it to you! Too funny, how it was really gut and n top of the box I opened right?!? I know you will wear that so nicely!

And thank you kyra for the sweet comment!!! You could always join us too if you’re ever over this way!!! Of course things are bound to get a bit worse here for a minute before they get better so we are all just hoping for the best!!! Xoxo

Share I have a lot of costume jewelry books. I love this one "Collecting Art Plastic Jewelry", Leigh Leshner 2005. A similar cuff is featured on p 112 for $125. But, the market is a lot different now for old plastic. I had problems w/wifi and internet too in the past 2 days, turning off and on, then slow.Did you call your phone company?

Mary, been gone a while, out camping with my family. Was wonderful. So many parks are closed, but the Pinos was open. My Daughter had cave tours set up for her family...cancelled. They were going to stay at another campground for a week...cancelled. Even Yosemite closed! Her husband plans on going up the HalfDome Cables! NOPE! But they are avid hikers, my daughter just came back from a three day hike in Big Sur. There are places to get out and breathe. I couldn’t bare to sit in the house all day...and do what? I’m not a TV watcher. Maybe an hour a day, if that. Ok, enough of this...
I apologize for taking so long to comment, I have been catching up though. What a wonderful gift from Share and you two sound like you had so much fun. Glad some of us can get together, what a treat and that bracelet, well, when I look at it, the word “Mod” comes to light. Something Twiggy wore back in the 60’s, Ha! Missed you my friend, glad to be back!

Hi Eileen - great to hear from you, glad you had a good time camping w/family. News says Yosemite is open? Weird here too that certain hikes are closed. I've been on a few in Santa Monica Mtns. last few weeks - agree, still places to get out and breathe!! Heard a favorite band last night. The bar expanded their patio out into the walk ways at Shoreline Village - it was GREAT - dancing outside normal confines of a pub....proper social distancing. I liked it! Want to do a road trip but fighting off anxiety about leaving my world. I think I've watched just about everything on Prime's channels LOL.

YES, Mod is the word! Thanks for your comments and chatting with me. XOXO

Lol! I like that! MOD. and Twiggy too. Certainly does look just like that! And yes, I've called about the internet/wifi… only to have it get worse. I'll live tho. Things are moving along here, slowly but surely!!! xoxo
