I saw Kerimikos` and Cokeman1959`s posts with zinc lids so I thought I would post mine.
The first pic is of three unopened boxes, second is all my boxes, some in bad condition, third is most of my jar shelf and last is a small box of extras. Thanks for lookin! Rob

I have some or these old jars, what I didn’t know is the lids ( with glass inside) were made of zinc. That’s why I love this site, you learn new things all the time. Do people even can anymore? My Mother even made her own pickles, from cucumbers she grew herself. Ever have an Armenian cucumber? Yum! She canned albacore too, from fish my Dad brought home. Oh, for the days gone by.
You have a wonderful collection, so many! And the oil lamps are wonderful too. I had some that belonged to my Grandmother, but my Daughter “borrowed” them. Ha!

Thanks Ms.C! Agree about this site, always learning! There`s still a lot of canning going on in my area. BTW, does anyone know what happened with Keramikos? All comments are gone from my posts.???.

I don’t. She just disappeared and I miss her. She was full of info, and worked tirelessly giving that info to others :(
