This was a big find that I found while searching an antique mall. Got it for less than it costs online. There was much rejoicing.
The Mountain Troops set was part of the 2004 40th anniversary extravaganza. This is the Walmart edition. It is an almost 100% faithful reproduction of the original set from the contents to the packaging. After removing the outer packaging with the Walmart label what is left (photo #2) is what the original set looked light. Even the artwork on the back (photo #3) is the same. These were so good the price of the originals dropped way down.
The Mountain Troop set went along with the Ski Patrol set. You had to have both for a complete set as seen in photo #4. But to get the rifle and helmet there was another small card set you had to buy. Sears had a set with everything included for Wish Book fans.
This I will leave on the card where I display the various sets. There were about 20 of the reproduction sets made and I have most displayed. Will post those when I am running low on new material to post.
Nice. And well done for getting all those Walmart labels off. I hate it when they leave a sticky residue.
Great arctic outfit complete with snowshoes
Those are Huron style snowshoes - not to be confused with Alaskan style which are longer and a tad narrower. Cool set - I love snowshoeing :)
