Unknown item. I'm looking to I.D. this item. A friend of mine brought it by asking if I knew what it is. I sure don't know what it is. I'm hoping someone here will know .

I was also thinking some kind of 'lawn/yard machine' attachment, though I remain at a loss to exactly what it might be supposed to do. Also completely uncertain (if that's what it really is) to whether it was intended to be attached before or after any such mowing machine, besides whatever function it was intended to serve...???
