    Received an old steamer trunk. It was really in bad condition. I have cleaned it up, but was hoping to find out some history on it. If anyone knows anything about the trunk I would love to know.

      well its right around mid 1880's give or take a bit, barrel top, the S on the hardware is for J.H. Sessions he patented the hardware but did not make the trunk, without a label hard to say who the maker was. I believe it was originally covered in leather, pretty rough shape, this would be a tough call for me, but I wish you good luck with it.

      Thanks for the information. Every little bit helps. The trunk was originally covered in leather. When I got this trunk though it was in worse shape.
