My wife collects bear themed antiques and I used to play contract bridge; yet that was long time ago and I don’t remember the game. But decades ago, I found this unusual contract bridge trump-suit indicator and couldn’t pass it up.
About 5 inches tall and made of solid brass, it's heavy for its size. “No Trumps” and all four card suits are painted on thin pieces of celluloid (or ivorine or something similar). Just turn the knobs at the top and the indicators flip over. There are no maker’s marks or identification and my guess is it dates from the late 1800s to 1900s.
Anyhow, it’s an enjoyable way to display bid trump suits (or no trumps) if you’re stuck at home playing contract bridge.
Oh … oops … "no trumps" (LOL) … didn't realize this when I photographed … anyhow … please, no political jokes or commentary. Thx!
