This bracelet was a real pain to clean! The silver had tarnished quite a bit but I needed to be careful because of the rhinestones.

Some of the stones are not as sparkly anymore but that's fine. I guess this happens to many well loved rhinestone pieces. Otherwise, the bracelet is in great condition.

The bracelet looks to me like an older piece, maybe Art Deco. I was thinking that it might date to around the 1940's or thereabout. I have a few newer sterling tennis bracelets and they appear to be very different in construction and the stones used.

The bracelet is marked F.S. Ster. and has a box closure as well as a safety chain.

When I bought it, I believed that it would be easy to trace to a maker but I was wrong! The only thing I found were a few items with the same mark but no indication who made them.

Any help or comment would be greatly appreciated.

Here is another F.S.Ster. I had thought it was 'Sterling" with the ling worn off?

Hi Gillian, thanks for your comment. I saw this one. It appears to be very small. Maybe it was changed at some time? I also found a necklace with one clear and one coloured row of rhinestones. Again no information on the maker:(

Hello freiheit, I can't help you with this, but just for interest's sake.... I also own an "F.S. Ster" piece! In my case, it's a pair of very Art Deco-looking rhinestone screwback earrings. Date is unknown although my feeling is that they're genuine Art Deco, i.e. pre-WW II. Web searches for "F.S. Ster" have failed to identify this interesting jewellery maker. Mind you, I did find a sterling silver rosary that they made, along with rhinestone bracelets and necklaces, so clearly they had a fairly broad range!

(I'll have to put the earrings up onto this site sometime and see if anyone else has any ideas :)

Rhineisfine, thank you for your comment. I would love to see your earrings. Maybe we will find out more about the maker, eventually:)

I have a similar bracelet like this one but mine are just one strand with the chain hanging from it. I was wondering if mine was real , mine needs clean also. When my husband inherited his family home we found a large jewelry box that stands about 4 ft tall full of jewelry real and costume. I've been trying to learn as much as I can about costume jewelry. I have a pair of earrings marked Trifari I'm trying to find out about right now.I have many different costume pieces with different names from Holly Craft to Coro.

Hello freiheit! I finally got around to posting my "F.S. Ster." earrings to CollectorsWeekly. Here's the link if you'd like to take a peek:
