In an earlier post I failed to included some backside pics of the items, thanks to Eileen, I have updated te WEISS set here with the backs, as best I can - I have packed most of the house waiting to move.
Lovely earrings and bracelet!
But...is there a hallmark on the brooch? If so, I’m a little confused. The brooch has the Judy Lee or Beau Jewels construction. Never the less, they all look marvelous together!
Thanks for sharing so many beautiful sets lately. You have literally lit up the “Vintage Jewelry” page!
Eileen there is no mark on the brooch, however it was purchased with the earrings and bracelet, not at all with the Judy Lee pieces, totally separate.
I am confused myself (trying to learn) at the construction of the brooch, it was sold as a WEISS item. thanks
IMHO, I don’t believe you have a Weiss brooch here, but they all go lovely together.
What we call a “married” set. Sometimes sellers don’t have a clue on what they are listing, but it’s not that they are dishonest. They just don’t do their research.
A while back there was a Schreiner Coral Ruffle Brooch listed as a “Juliana”! There are lots of unmarked Schreiner’s out there. These go between $500-$1500! They had it at $150! A fraction of it’s worth. No, I didn’t buy it. I couldn’t of slept at night. In fact, I emailed them, filling them in on what they had. Too late, someone bought it. So I probably didn’t help matters at all, fore now they knew they had sold an iconic piece so cheap. So now I just stay out of it.
It’s all about research :)
Seeing that all the stones are AB, something Weiss was famous for, I can see how the seller would think this was a Weiss brooch....
Eileen, Much Appreciated thank you, I have some researching on this.....
thank you very much - Lori
