I've just bought this unusual brooch, these are the sellers photos, when the brooch arrives I'll post new ones.
I've been looking online for the marks but been unsuccessful, any help would be much appreciated. As you can see it has the hammered finish on both front and back and 2 circle also hammered and the rectangular with symbols. On either side are to stones within a bezel setting. If anybody would have an idea who the maker is I would thrilled to know.

    Many thanks for looking

Thank you kyra, the seller was selling as either French or Russian. I’ve looked at Russian they usually have 84 somewhere on their Hallmarks as for it being French I can’t find any hallmarks similar to these. Hopefully I’ll have more idea when it arrives. I hope your well, I love your new posting.

Thank you Jean! Hope you're well too :-)
I'm sure these aren't French marks.

Thank you kyra, a mystery to be solved. I’m interested in the hammered work, it’s very detailed. I’ve looked at both the Polish and Russian work and haven’t come across this type of work.

Just a thought I had .... perhaps the stones may give you an origin ???
    8. Peasejean55 Peasejean55, 1 year ago
Hi Kevin, yes I think your correct. The seller said they are agate,.
    9. Silvermachine1962 Silvermachine1962, 1 year ago
Could it possibly be Dutch from Joure dated 2004 ? Hopefully not,it looks older,I was thinking French earlier ????

On reflection I’d guess at Polish, fairly modern ? Part of the fascination is doing the research I love it.Ive just acquired a silver modernist ring and I’m stumped with that one????

Hi Silvermachine1962, thanks for both your comments. Yes it’s a interesting brooch, there was one name that came up from the seller. I’m not sure about Polish, will have a better idea when the brooch arrives, hopefully which will be soon.
I’m trying to keep away from brooches, I have so many, this brooch caught my eye with its hammered texture, I love that type of work.

      https://rocktumbler.com/blog/what-is-dalmatian-stone-it-is-not-a-jasper/

Looking at the stones I did some research and I think both of them could be Dalmatian stone which comes from Mexico. Maybe the way forward Is to look at Mexican jewellery.

Hi Silvermachine, the circle with the head turned to the right could definitely be Polish, I’m interested in the rectangle 925 and what looks to be a head if there is a letter above which would be the city/Town where it was made. The triangle seems to have the letters J O which would I think be the makers mark. I have looked online for Polish makers mark, we shall see. Thanks very much for your help.

Jean,if it is Polish then your first reply from kyratango is spot on,she is the clever one,I just used google????

      Updated photo’s.
Pascale was correct, definitely Poland the G for the city Gdansk, also maker mark in triangle which I think is DJ. The brooch is long at 9 cm width approx 2 1/2 cm.

Oops maker mark which I think is upside down DC
