Front and back are a butterfly and two birds. The space between has flowers and assorted vegetation. What I really like as well is the crenellated rim and the three bun feet. The gilding is worn but the enamelling is still fine........

Thank you, Mrstyndall, I admit I like it too, whatever its origins!

A beautiful piece. I mean Harrach or Riedel. Painting possible by some refinery from the area of Nový Bor - Kamenický Šenov (Haida - Steinschönau).

Gorgeous! I am always on the look for these ball-footed vases. I love the color and cut top on this one - it is really special!

larksel, thank you. Someone I respect on a Facebook page also gave his opinion as Harrach or Reidel, so I've altered the post's title again.

Michelle, aw, the power of three bun feet! It's also interesting that image one and three are subtley different. By chance I've photographed opposite sides of the vase. Usually you don't see both front and back together.

      I love this Peggy - the enameling is sooo 1970s : )
    16. sklo42 sklo42, 4 years ago
Hi Phil, Does it come from that period?
    17. Michelleb007 Michelleb007, 4 years ago
No, 1880-1890, I'd say. I think Phil was referring to the colors. :)
    18. philmac51 philmac51, 4 years ago
Hi Peggy - No...closer to 1870s - as Michelle suggests - it is the colours and perhaps the design of the Butterfly particularly that reminds me of a simple abstract 1970s design.

Hi Phil, recently in a Facebook group someone said, "Only two major Czech glass houses thrived after WWII and they were Harrach? and Moser? However I wasn't sure I'd remembered the names correctly......hence my question.
