Found at the Rozelle markets a week ago, I was surprised to find that it dates to as early as 1955. It is a handblown (LH 1176) mid-century period clear glass vase by Vicke Lindstand. It's part of the "Black Contour" series and is internally decorated with a single band of black (dark amethyst) glass, that spirals up from the base past a "forato" decoration. The shape of the lip adds to the movement within the vase and the placement of the "hole" or "foro" adds to the asymmetrical sweep of the elegant form. It is 31 cm or 12.2 ins high.
