This beautiful D & E set has been repeatedly mistaken for Schreiner. And why not? It has all of Schreiner’s attributes. Pie Crust setting, open dog- tooth prongs, even donut- hole findings on the earrings. But look close..see the figure 8’s? Unmistakably D & E!
Katerina Musetti put a chapter in her book, “The Art of Juliana Jewelry”, explaining this “mystery” A dear friend who collects and sells D & E told me once, “people could not wrap their heads around D & E using Schreiner traits”! This lovely dome set came in many colors, but the pink is my favorite. The earrings are hard to come by so when I saw this set, I was delighted to make it my own. And for people to know this is D & E’s design, not Schreiner’s. I have seen these for sale as Schreiner’s many times. Now, I hope I have shed a little light on the truth.
