A Pair of Sphinx Bookends

Now that its August and my birth month I though it was time for a suitably lion-like upload and the most suitably lion-like pieces I recently acquired were a fabulous pair of Egyptian sphinx style bookends. To be fair, I rarely come across bookends in all the charity shops I visit so to come across these was definitely a rare threat and a bit of a birthday gift to myself (!) :P. They also go in really well with the rest of the Egyptian collection which is ever growing!
Both pieces are really heavy and lined with a green velvet underneath, though at a guess I'd still say they are made from resin. They are also stamped with 'C 24' on the back, whatever that mark means....
