To my surprise a few weeks ago, I learned the shape of this compote has been identified as Fritz Heckert from the Passau Glass Museum in Germany. I've been familiar with this shape because I just love the inverted pinched bubble pattern and have seen this bubble design on other bowl shapes, but never believed it was an exclusive design to one glasshouse. With some of the examples I have seen and their decors, I thought maybe Kralik. Heckert never crossed my mind.
This particular bowl shape is also identified in a Carl Hosch catalog. I did a posting a few weeks ago to show the various colour combinations. What is interesting to me is these decors are not iridescent. I am not an expert on Heckert and usually when the topic of Heckert surfaces, examples shown are either iridescent or hand painted so this is new to me. I find this to be a fascinating and hope this addition of other decors from the Hosch catalog can be of help to anyone researching Heckert.
Here is the link to view the other non iridescent decors found in the same iridescent Heckert shape.
If anyone has anything they would like to add, please share your thoughts!
Thanks, so much for stopping by.
