As the Labor Day weekend has traditionally been one for visiting & traveling, here are a few forms of transportation from Boyd Glass
Blue & white 3 1-2"W slag glass 1963 Corvette, signed in gold by the co's owner Bernard Boyd from 1978
Rubina (a deep multicolor hue) 3"W glass train boxcar imprinted Boyd Special ca 1980s
Lavender 3 1-4"W glass old time taxi car with BOYD spelled out on roof ca 1980s

That rubina box car is a gorgeous colour, really different.
Of course the other two are my favourite colours so they get a big tick too.
Corvette is my favourite, but all of them are so unusual! Who knew glass cars were a thing?!!! I love the old ford model T type car with the lovely purple hue too, it's definitely a really different collection from you this week Jenni! :P
Yep....the split window ‘63 Corvette is my fave....restored and sold one :)

Karen thank you for the fabulous praise I am really glad you liked all these car colors :) Rubina is a lovely rich blended color glass, one of my fave posted pieces is a Degenhart bird w. berry covered dish where you can really see the gradient colors - from deep cranberry down to grayish blue. I love all my animal topped dishes & keep them in our shadow box credenza
Thanks Lauren for your great comment and yes, the cars are kinda different for me, but you'll notice I called this Boyd part II because one previous Labor Day weekend I posted another trio of their vehicles....seems America is "on the move" over that weekend, perhaps because it signals end of summer & kids going back to school. Boyd made alot of cars, trains, planes, boats, tractors etc besides animals & agree they did a pretty cool job on the Corvette & Model T taxi
Hoot I'm so glad you liked this 63 Corvette miniature, it must have been a blast restoring the real thing & I can almost picture how gorgeous it turned out, then had to be a bit heartwrenching selling it but you made someone quite happy! Thank you my friend for your super comment
Thank you so much six-0-one for the fabulous compliments, I am rather partial to that lavender glass taxi myself & would love to find more nice pieces in that color. Boyd made their Corvette so cool, last time I posted one of their cars called a Tucker & when searching their vehicles was lucky to find this vintage 'Vette signed by the co. owner
