Isn’t he a beauty? These pieces from the early 60’s are becoming harder to find, and when one is found in mint condition, the price is way up there! This 2 inch golden lion is pave’ set in clear RS, with a ruby red cabochon eye. Being close to 60 years old, he is in wonderful vintage condition! I have seen one other lion such as this “in the wild” and his owner wanted over $400 for him...yikes! Though I understand why. These early pieces command high prices because of their rarity.
There are more reasonable pieces out there, the ones with “A “C” in a circle( copyright) KJL ( no periods) c. 1990, known to be used on pieces made in mass for QVC” ( info from CJCI, researching vintage jewelry). These are everywhere, easy to find, and relatively cheap in price, though even these pieces are on the rise. ( just to make it clear to some, I am not imputing these pieces, merely stating they are easier to come by, thus the price is a lot lower)
