      It is a motor for a sewing machine, it plugs into a power source and runs....that is the limit of my knowledge..........

      Yes it is a motor for a sewing machine . It is called a friction drive motor because it is supposed to have a little rubber wheel attached to the shaft at the left of the motor . That little rubber wheel rest up against the hand wheel of the sewing machine and that is what truns it . You do not just plug this motor into a wall outlet . There would have been a plug somewhere on the sewing machine cabinet for it and a foot controler to plug into . You would operated the machine using the foot controler . The whole setup would then be pluged into a wall outlet .
