This 2 1-2"L goldtone dragonfly brooch has a 3" wingspan of pastel and white rhinestones in a zigzag pattern, with an oval amethyst stone center. By d'Orlan of Toronto Canada (founded 1960) from the 1980s

Just beautiful!
That brooch is so beautiful- down to the amethyst stone in the centre which really makes it. Dragonflies really make lovely brooches because of their natural prettiness and elegance

Lauren thanks so much my friend for the sweet compliments on this dragonfly, yes they make wonderful graceful subjects don't they, and you're right the amethyst 'body' stone is a focal dramatic point here. I also like the zigzag pattern on the wings, just wish they had used bolder color rhinestones for more enhancement

Karen I always forget we are in different seasons, here it is getting cooler and the bugs start hibernating, and you are just warming up in Aus & beginning to see the beauty of nature coming alive. It was our first summer here & we were swarmed with dragonflies as well, we live close to canals that go into bays then to the ocean, so it was fascinating to see the beauty of these 'darning needles' (one of my grandma's euphemisms) close up. Thank you as ever for your super kind words & love for this piece :)
