My father passed away over 5 years ago and I just recently went through some old boxes and albums of photos. My father was in the photo developing business during those years. I found these 5 vintage color photographs of the 1969 Moonwalk. The photos measure 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" and have Aug 69 stamped on the border which is when they were developed. I know the actual Moonwalk took place July 20 of 1969. The images are the same as the Nasa Photos. I'm not sure how he ended up with these and I certainly don't remember seeing them when I was young. They are in very good condition though the color has faded some. Were they sold to the public? Any recommendations where I could go to find out more info about these? I've tried a few sites that deal with the Apollo landing and moonwalk, but alas no response. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Years ago I was at a garage sale in a barn and they found a manila folder with a bunch of moon pictures. Also letters from NASA. Apparently the persons relative had worked there. They didn't even know pictures were there in the sale. They gave me a price of $20 but I passed it up and I kick myself everyday I should have bought them.

I have some Apollo memorabilia and I had some questions about value recently. So I contacted an appraiser. He specializes in space memorabilia. He was very helpful. I emailed them and explained what I had and asked if it was worth paying to have appraised. He was nice enough to look at them for free. You could try contacting him here's his website..

Thank you for the information. I will contact the appraiser and see what information he may be able to share. And thank you for the link - I will look closely at the pics I have.

It took me a while but finally discovered these were copies from a set of 27 that was made by DEXTER PRESS, INC., WEST NYACK, NEW YORK, 1969 from actual NASA phots.
