Reminds me of old Duke, love it !
Awh- he looks so sad but adorable at the same time!...I wonder is he a Basset Hound? They always look so mournful and sad, and his colour is beautiful- that deep shade of honey or whisky is so deep and rich and really fitting at this time of year

Thanks so much Phil for the great comment, yes this could very well be Duke the dog as its inspiration! Viking also made this dog in a clear glass bookend but I've always loved their colored glass paperweights (I have another in a teddy bear shape) which are more compact & cuter
Lauren he does have a sad look, and could very well be a basset hound although I also thought of the bloodhound, those overlooked floppy dogs that help the police. Viking made another earlier design called the basset hound, do you know that beagles are also in the hound family (that was my family dog growing up), at any rate it was nice to find another glass dog when I have so many cats. Thank you for your wonderful praise
