This 2"L goldtone horse head brooch has a black-brown enamel face, with one green eye and flowing mane with white rhinestone accents. By Attwood & Sawyer (1976-2003) with A&S mark ca 1980s

This horse head brooch is a beauty- reminds me of Black Beauty actually! :P I seem to remember seeing similar ones with a horseshoe underneath? But I love the individual green eye and the detail in his flowing mane- very regal!

Thank you Lauren for the always super compliments, this really does look quite a bit like Black Beauty which was a wonderful story & there were so many great movie versions (I liked the orig one from the 40s), such a proud steed! It does have a very regal bearing, almost like a prize winning racehorse. It's interesting that the enamel color is a very dark brown (you can see a bit under the chin) yet it really looks more black, and I could definitely see it with a horseshoe design too
