This is not Saturday night but this is not exactly a Boy Scout item despite being approved by the Boy Scouts of America. Not quite something the typical Boy Scout would use.
The Steve Scout line was released in 1974 and sold through 1975. A rather short lived toy line but is now gaining popularity with collectors. The figures and accessories were well made with a few exceptions.
This particular Steve Scout figure has pretty much been in the box since it was made i9n 1974 and has all the original packing material. The cardboard piece goes on top of his head to hold him still in the box. There is a yellow Kenner tag on his wrist which shows up on loose figures now and then. But they get brittle and the tab breaks off. Also there is a rubber band for a neckerchief slider and these are usually broken or missing.
Next up is the sticker sheet. Has the council patch, troop number, flag patch and BSA patch. I would have told them to sell rank and position patches. Maybe I can talk someone into making them.
Last is the comic book that came with each figure. It was also a catalog and there was section advertising mail away premiums. Pretty normal for toys and part of the fun.
