My father brought this back from a trip to Yemen several years ago. I have no idea of its history. No markings. Sheath is wood lining (looks very old, darkened and fragile), covered with decorative metal covering, silver and gold colored metal. Does anyone have idea of age or origin? It is beautiful. Knife is 14.5” in length.

On the back of the sheath in pic4 I can discern a Chinese looking dragon.

It would be helpful if you had full size images. You only have partial images so it's very hard to compare and search for a comprable item.

Changed photos, included full front and back, total length in sheath is around 14.75”. Thanks for looking! Appreciate any info you can provide!

Handle design sure looks like a patag from Bhutan, that's near tibet. Blade doesnt look correct though..so still looking.

The design and blade looks very similar. One of the things I'm struggling with in both examples is the machine nut on the pommel. However we do know that hexagon nuts were invented in 1829 in France.
