This 1 1-2" scorpion brooch has enamel colors of pale green and bright copper with two red rhinestone eyes in a goldtone setting. By BSK (1948-1983) from the 1950s, this also came in an all goldtone version.

He's a great little scorpion brooch! :P I love the metallic shimmering colour he is- reminds me of desert sands(Maybe he's basking in them?) It's a very coppery tone actually? Details on the tail are really nice too!
Great looking Arachnid. I remember studying these guys at the university...they fluoresce a vibrant blue green when exposed to a black light. Cool brooch!

Lauren thank you for your wonderful compliments I am so glad you liked my lil stinger! I was looking for a scorpion for my usual astrology tribute, but never thought they could make one this cute - it does have nice coppery colors to kind of show you a touch of reality coloring I think, and yes he should be creeping along on desert sands & has a very realistic tail
Hoot that is so cool that scorpions turn blue green under black light, I assume you mean those brownish transparent types, wow! Again I learn from you thinking arachnids were only spiders, and further wiki digging tells me this innocuous brooch is designed after the androctonus fat-tail scorpions which are the deadliest! So someone was having an inside joke showing a sweet pastel critter who is actually dangerous. Thanks for the fabulous comment :)

Happy happy birthday my Scorpio friend Mary & appreciate the great praise, I searched far & wide to find a nice vintage scorpion and was glad to find a nice one. I am sorry to say that except for living creatures like this or animals, I am rather depleted on finding monthly astrology symbols, for example mine is Sagittarius but I haven't found anything in either glass or jewels nice enough for a post, so perhaps will be skipping over some CW birthdays and apologize for that - I won't give up looking tho
