This 2 1-4"W fan brooch and matching 1 1-2"W clip earrings have an original design of purple glazed abalone shell pleats, with a pave white rhinestone base on goldtone. Made by Butler Fifth Ave (aka Fifth Ave Collections founded 1988) from the 1980s, all pieces signed Butler

Thank you six-0-one for the fabulous compliments, I'm very glad that you liked this purple fan set, it was very nice to find the entire set as I had only seen the earrings once before. Butler Fifth Ave made only a few designs with abalone or paua shell but I really love them, also have their butterfly & hope to acquire more pieces - an added bonus was a nice fan design which I have wanted for a long time

Had to wait for it to be shipped from Canada, as you know Butler is a Canadian designer & I love all of your country's designers with of course Sherman at the top of the mountain :)

I agree totally Elisabeth, it's the nicest fan design I have seen & I've been looking for a long time, you never know when you will find something you've always wanted.
Karen it's so true the blue abalone under the glaze really enhances the fan pleat colors, Butler had a talent for doing that but made few figural designs with these shells, so I'm lucky to have this & my butterfly, so glad you liked
