I just fell in love with this necklace when I saw it. It has an air of glamour about it and has a wonderful composition of color and glow. To me it is just right and not too much. The details tells me it is a good quality necklace. There are round, teardrop- and petalshaped faux beads together with gold/pink foil glassbeads, one pink center rhinestone and several small red or fuchsia colored glassbeads. All mounted on a metall base. It has a nice clasp with a rondell of rhinestones. I would love ideas or information on where it is from and hopefully who made it. If you have seen anything similar before.
The seller did not know much, she had bought it many years ago in an antique shop in Stockholm Sweden and that particular shop was known for selling a lot of vintage and antique french jewelry. But she had no specifik information about this necklace. I am curious about what you think about it. I am thinking it is from around 1940-50's but I am not sure? The necklace has some weight to it and it fits just perfectly around ones neck.
I will wear this on special occassions with a black or white dress and no other jewelry. Nothingelse needed :)

This is still a mystery. I think the necklace is french. Thanks för nice coments everyone! I found out that the Rousselet shop is still operating in Paris. Emailed them a photo of my necklace. They kindly answered me that it is 50/50 chance it is by Louis Rousselet, they were not sure. I am thinking I need to keep my eyes open for known Rousselet pieces - and necklaces by other makers - and study their details and hope that one I or you will come across an answer. If you do please let me know. Thank you :)

I am now on the lookout for some dashing but modest :) earrings to go with it.

Six-0-one thanks for your nice words! Yes I agree the condition is very good. One of the very small beads at the top of the faux pearls is chipped it is hardly noticeable as there is so much "going on" in this piece.

Ms.Chrystalship thank you! I also think those end fuchsia beads are swell. Small detail that does a lot to the look of this piece. When it comes to costume jewelry I need to learn more about europe although I live in europe. I know quite a lot about european fine jewelry and in particular scandinavia silver. In my country costume jewelry was mostly imported and not made here and there is not a field of research here like it is in US and some countrys in europe outside scandinavia. So I hope someone will come here and see this and hopefully be able to give us some information. Thanks for letting me know that you find it to be a nice necklace. Makes me feel happy even more about buying it :)

Thank you so much PhilDMorris! I agree, it screamed to me in the photos I first saw of it "quality" and "must have" :) . When I now can hold it and examine it is even more so. Just wish I knew more about it.

Thanks Valentino! Neither have I and I have searched online most of this weekend :)
I need help, wish I knew if there are any reliable refrence books on european costume jewelry. I think this is european. I have a name of a maker that I am thinking about but I don't want to write it just yet as it is just a loose idea and I don't want to influence those who might have another and more right idea. I am hoping...We'll see.

I have spent a lot of time searching on line this weekend for french costume jewelry makers. Quite hard to come to a conclusion. But I have stumbled over one namne because some of his pieces shares some details in beads or the "feeling" about them. His name is or more correctly was Louis Rousselet.

This piece has similar red/fushiacolored small glass endbeads:

Order pieces have a similar feeling about them:

Ofcourse it is still just a wild goosechase. Will have to investigate more or get an aswer from someone who knows.

Take care out there CW friends!

Ms.ChrystalShip thank you dear. It is quite tricky. I don't know what more to do other than wait and see if I come across information one of these days. I am happy I found the necklace and bought it, we'll see if I also am lucky to find out more. The only thing I wish for christmas - after peace on earth and health for my family - is a huge book in the history of european costume jewelry. If that book has been written yet :)
