Since this forum is for antique & vintage photographs, and since I have been cheating somewhat with my California photos, I thought it best to post “the real thing” for a change...
These lovely ladies are my Aunts. No, not great Aunts....Aunts!
The Lady in the sailer suit is my Aunt Mary, born in 1900, sitting is my Aunt Rose, born 1908, and the lady with the long gloves, my Aunt in Law, Laura, married eldest brother of my two Aunts, born 1892! All three ladies lived into their 90’s. ( my Father was the baby of the family, born 1919)
    Look at those hats!

Gorgeous photo, I love the nautical theme and the period clothes. I also love the chair and legs which look to be added for height which I really love, her feet don't really seem to be touching the floor. I wonder what year that was ?!~

Nice photo. Wish those hats were "in" now. Would love to have the hat to the right in the back.

Lovely relatives! Thanks for sharing your family photo. Which auntie do you resemble? Of course I love Mary :-)

How kind of everyone to love my Aunties, I was lucky enough to know one, ( not pictured) the youngest before my Father. Her name was Georgia, and I adored her.

      Patricia ( Watchsearcher)
      Kevin (kwqd)
      Bill (OLECODY)
      Thomas ( Brunswick)
      Mary (valentino97)

Yes, Vynil, those clothes were most likely their “Sunday best”, as my Grandparents and all 12 (living) children liked on a 200 acre horse ranch, fully self contained. No electricity however!
( also, there is no room for rudeness on this site, some people can’t help themselves, I quess)

Thanks Elizabeth for both your wonderful comments. I agree, those hats! Ha!

Phil, I do believe this was taken in the early 1920’s as Rose ( sitting) is very young, barely in her teens. That chair is quite something. My Father told me the house he grew up in had marble topped furniture throughout. Nothing fancy I would think, being a ranch house. Also, they were never allowed in the “Parlor”. Hmmm...

Thank you Mary! So you like Mary..I remember as a very little girl going to her house, ( she had grown up daughter’s by then) and in her kitchen was a tiny picnic table. I remember eating my meals on it. Funny the things you remember!

      Thank you’s go out to..
      Pascale ( kyratango)
      Maureen ( plein-air-painter)
      Scott (jscott0363)

for the loves for my beautiful Aunties! So many loves, makes me feel all warm inside! Bless you all!
