These two magnificent Chinese, 44 cm high 'Simiào guànzi de gàizi' or 'general's hats' or 'potiches' of porcelain in 'Yang tsai' or 'famille rose' design are part of my small, asian collection. Decorated in enamel colours with 'Zabao' or 'hundred antiques' and 'Banzi' and 'Liánhua tú àn'. Made in Jingdezhen and decorated in Canton. Tongzhi (1861-1875) or Guangxu (1875-1908), most probably (1875-1880). I bought them at two auctions and since then they have their place in my hall. Enjoy.

Thanks ho2cultcha. I've added photos of the bases. Incense burning in the temple has left its mark on the unglazed parts of the porcelain.
you could be right , but i think it is inconclusive it is raised enameling, looks or an late guanghu run out or early republic , i tend to the latter
the glaze does appear to be a bit thin and runny.

why are we in a zabao ? why aren,t we in a bai gudong ?

Yang tsai is an technical assessment on colors ( there are even in the 20 century)but you can see from the get go ( like the verte coloring ,) there is no relation in any form to qianlong, so its a immaterial indicator
if you come to the conclusion that this an lianhua vase because it has just one characteristic, it is just tiny part of the styling , it is not what you call scrolling lotus lidded vase
the main indicators are crosshatching, meander border, and the way the table is represented ( the chinese way ) so we are commited early guanghu to early republick ) the same criteria as the precious table design the left vase is to combine something like early guangxu and the right vase i don,t know possible the spread is a wider to early republic , but it is hard to say
may sound sound stupid but what zabao is i don,t know
at least the left vase run rather well, and you have imo assessed this tremendously well

Well known hundered antiques motives richly decorated ones from late 19thc Guangxu period definetly(1900s) this kind of painting is being called also "green canton" (mauve) relateon the borderline green patterns
