    unknown tool of sort? 9" long. Was always in our basement as long I can remember, at least back till mid-50's. curious as to its purpose.

      It is an ice-chipper tool...I showed my own very similar awhile ago, which was promptly identified by out friendly CW community. :-) :-)

      Thanks everyone! Now I know. And I see now too how it functioned as a bottle opener. In our case, I'm surer it was used more to open bottles than chip ice. Again, thx..
