This was my grandmothers and she died at 97 15 years ago. I cannot find anything about it.

It's interesting that your machine seems to have a motor made by White Sewing Machine. The motor has patent information dating to 1927, so I don't know if that's a clue to the age of your machine, or whether it was a retrofit.
I can't quite make out the information engraved on the slide plate
The cabinet looks fairly modern, and indeed the relative simplicity of the decal set on the head would suggest that it isn't super old (that is, turn of the 19th/20th century).
There are more than a few Ideal sewing machines out there on the web, and even at least one here at CW S&T:

However, I don't think that yours is like the one at the link above, in that CW S&T user Bernadette (who doesn't seem active here any more, which is a shame) was of the opinion that that one is a post-1950s era Japanese Singer model 15 clone.
Your machine would not be a Singer model 15 clone because of the forward-facing tension disc assembly.
Here is another [New] Ideal sewing machine (New Home Sewing Machine Company) that looks similar, except that it's a hand-crank portable, the bobbin winder is mounted higher, and the decal set more elaborate:

Your machine needs more research, and unfortunately I have some time-sensitive chores to do right now. I might do some more research later when I get the time.

I'm trying to make sense of that picture of the White Sewing Machine motor. Is the motor mounted on the underside of the machine head, as opposed to the back, or was that picture perhaps taken when the head was lowered into the cabinet?
Anyway, you're allowed up to four pictures per post, so if you could take a close-up of the information on the split slide plates (next to the circular needle plate), and add it to your post, that might be helpful.
You probably also should examine the underside of the machine head for any embossed or engraved information.
It is possible that your machine was indeed made by the White Sewing Machine company out of Cleveland, OH, because per needlebar dot org, "Ideal" was a badge that White used at one time:
