This piece is a Loetz Medici vase which is also known as Phänomen Genre 2/484. This vase has a Russian Green ground, and is overlaid with ‘combed fused large silver-yellow crushed glass’ according to Loetz.com. The décor dates to 1902. The vase is 4.75” (12cm) tall and has a fire polished rim and finely polished pontil.
I have been very lucky to acquire quite a few pieces of Loetz for my collection in the last few weeks from different places all over the world – this particular one was found on the west coast of the United States.
