This is a photo shared with me from a friend. This was in a collection from her father who recently passed. No idea of the history or location where he acquired the sword. It’s heavy and the markings on the handle hopefully can give enough insight for someone here to help

    Can anyone help?

You will need much better photos. Your hand is obscuring the handle, focus is bad, etc. What are the dimensions?

Agreed Congcu, I’ve secured a few more photos

      Any markings on the blade?

Looks to be fraternal and from the late 19th/ early 20th century.

Styled after the M1860 staff officer sword-- military model has clamshells on both sides.

Manufacturers marks may assist in dating but doesn't really change desirability or value.

Could be a military musician's sword, but pix and info are too scanty.
