They badge has a eagle covered by a red 8 and five stars above it. The little metal thing has a three on 2 of the 6 sides. The pin is a Maltese cross with a clasp that says "rifle".

Second item is a fishing weight. Third item is a US Army markman badge.

Third item is Marksman badge for qualification with a rifle. There were in descending order of expertise: Expert, Sharpshooter and Marksman medals. In addition to the rifle bar, there were bars for pistol and other weapons. This medal was used by the US Army. Not sure whether other services used the same medal or not.

My two cents on the marksmanship qualification BADGE.

It is not a medal nor is it a permanent award.

It requires regular qualification (shooting at the range) to be worn.

This design is the current US Army qualification badge. It has been used since ww2-- the back helps to date the era.

      Not usually worn by officers.
