We have 7 funny cars here. 3 of them are the snake, one Mongoose, Jungle Jim, Mr Norm's Charger and one generic modern funny car.
Jungle Jim and Mr. Norm are Johnny Lightning and the others are Hot Wheels. The 3 versions of the Snake are the original in yellow, Snake II in white and the new fancy Snake I on the transport truck. The Mongoose is the original version but a remake of it. The fancy version of the Snake is the only one with pipes that properly curve upward.
Funny Cars looked like regular cars but the bodies were fiberglass shells. The chassis underneath was nothing like the original. So it is bodies up in photos 2 and 3. Photo 3 shows the 3 chassis styles not counting the generic newer one. Speaking of the newer one the bodies are now loosely based on real cars and the latest one are even more modified.
Last is a rear view showing their parachute packs. At speeds over 200MPH brakes are not enough.
Noce! I got a newer black snake car..I lost my body props a long time ago.
Not gonna mention any names..cough..He won four NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car championships between 1987 and 1991.
No one could figure out how he was so fast..then suddenly he lost his top fuel sponsor...now funny cars are weighed with the bodies down at the scales...no more lead filled hood props and helmets.
