Seat cushion from the first Superbowl, in amazing condition--just a small split along one of the seams. Obviously sponsored by TWA.

buckethead I believe it was actually called the AFL-NFL World Championship Game back then but the term Super Bowl had been used and the media picked up on it. To long ago to remember

fhrjr2....I was skeptical at first having known that it was actually called te AFL-NFL World Championship Game as you mentioned. With a little more investigating, I found out that TWA brought 450 Chiefs fans aboard four 707s on one-day charter flights from MKC to LAX, scheduled to arrive in the morning and return after the game.
I found a picture on the internet where an airline hostess was welcoming Missouri Senator Stuart Symington aboard "Super Bowl Special" carrying Kansas City fans to the big game between their Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers in Los Angeles. Hostesses aboard four TWA charters wore cheerleader sweaters and skirts and feathered headdress.

Yep...I guess the media picked up on it :)

Buckethead I can tell you first hand TWA and Pan AM both went all out back in those days. I flew both in and out of Vietnam with them and they were the best and only welcome home offered. They were the tops and will never be forgotten by me. That was 68

fhrjr2...Kudos to TWA and Pan AM for creating that memory for you through those difficult times.Thank you very much for actively serving our country. I give you my utmost respect and admiration.

I remember watching the game. It was on both networks in glorious black and white. I was an AFL fan and it didn't work out for us until Superbowl III.

fhrjr2... I was in Nam for the First Super Bowl. Flew out on TWA Sept 67!!! Your right about TWA. They landed at Bien Hoa airbase gunships flying beside the plane for protection. Replacements getting off by the rear door, us getting on by the front door yelling SHORT!!! Felt bad about it after!! but I was happy to be going home!! The S--t hit the fan in 68!!!!
