Here is s beautiful Pearl Oval - Gold metal item, the back shows a different type (to me anyway) of closure. for the pin-
there is a bar , with two metal pieces extending from the bar, then the bar closes with a snap. The snap looks exactly like on you would find on clothing, sewing type snap. It snaps tight and appears to be original to the piece, not an add-on. The only marks found are on the snap base on the backside it has N P N P?
This may be a “Pearl enhancer”. Used with a 3-strand necklace or bracelet, the item would be clamped on with one strand thru each segment of the clasp. It would be decorative while keeping the strands arranged as the wearer so desired.
thank you for your comments, I thought maybe an enhancer for a strand of pearls or beaded necklace, as Watchsearcher, no matter which way one would wear this piece I think it would be an eye catcher for sure. Lori
