Sherman Spectacular Pink and AB Pink brooch and Pinwheel Earrings Set Rare Received December 21, 2020
The signatures are nice and crisp, however will have to retake some pics.
This is one of my last purchases of the year, and I was lucky to get it before Christmas. This was the last puchase that was this good however before Christmas. Two weeks ago I never wanted another pink set by Sherman, but now I see that I would have been the loser had I not bought this set ! The earrings are spectacular with all the horde of small stones clustered in the middle. The shape of these earrings bring a premium in some of the vivid colours and I seen a pair in red for 1200.00 and I had to have it so I spent big. In other manufacurers I do not believe that they used such a small cluster of stones either on earrings or brooch. The brooch is rare also with these spectacular small stones in a roundel on the brooch which is highly rare, seldom used in brooches. I believe in the larger brooch alone he clustered around 19 of these spectacular small stones. The earrings have a 7 stone cluster. Usually the clusters of 19 stones are used in the large brooches, and not in mid size or smaller ones. The whole cluster of small stones in the roundel is only just a tad bigger than 1/4 inch, so very nice delicate work !
This work with small clusters of stones was very particular work for Sherman and is another way that Sherman did work that was very hard for the stone setters and therefore costing more to produce. Sherman also did sometimes use a regular one stone middle work that I have seen, but I prefer the use of multiple clusters of stones that makes a beautiful piece look Spectacular with a capital S. It makes the piece Zoom to reality with added particular flair in his pieces. I know he did this so far alone in my study and something time consuming which moreso no other manufacturer used this much work on a piece. A lot of manufacturers never did this work, let alone with all his rhinestone pieces being set by hand with real prongs, one of the few if only he may have manufactured on this continent. By this time most other manufacturers were using "fake" prongs used only for decoration ! This brooch is not a wreath design but some call it a double feather, all pieces signed. What a fantastic set Phil ! The color is a favorite of mine but the movement in the swirl of the brooch just draws you in. Another Rare fabulous find !

Eileen, Yes I almost bought one once it was a seller called cornydeb and the bracelet I would not have paid 5 cents for, so I returned it. It looked like the piece had been sat on by a cow at least 15 times and the gold plate had vanished, never wanted one since I had that bad experience.

Yes, I agree with you and now I try to reason with myself if the seller is sure of something. Coins are the worst however as a lot of dealers put out stock pics and your not sure of what you are getting. Some coins or I should say a lot of coins now have added a tiny maple leaf added and it is close to what you ordered but the item is not a big an engraving. Jewelry is always a pain, especially when the seller should know better !~
