These two vintage cocktail shakers are to toast a happy & healthy 2021 for all CW members and your loved ones :)
The 2"L brooch has two tone blue round rhinestones in a goldtone setting, by Lisner (1904-1985) ca 1960s
The 9 1-2"H cobalt blue glass shaker has a white angel fish design, with a chrome top. By Hazel Atlas from the 1930s

That is so COOL! I don't know much about cocktails but the shaker is so cool- I imagine that either being used on a tropical island for something very fruity or by a mermaid for something very...briny?
The brooch is great too, to me it makes me think of a blueberry smoothie and again makes me feel warm thinking of the kind of summer's day they're served on! :D

Lauren happy new year and thanks for your great praise & fantastic spot on insight into these cocktail shaker pieces - first of all I want to say that when my husband looked at the brooch he thought it was an ice cream float glass, so a smoothie maker is another great observ! In actuality back in "ye olde days" (before my time as well) the cocktail shakers came in 2 types, the flat top like this cobalt one, and the curved with little round ball on top like the brooch has with that small side knob. The fish design is certainly tropical and would look so cool with a mermaid swimming around, I would love to mix a warm weather cocktail in it like a Blue Hawaii & dream of the islands

Thanks Mary for your lovely comment and a fabulous New Year to you too! Glad you enjoyed the cobalt shaker, one of my few '30s vintage pieces, saw it on rl several yrs ago & just fell in love with that angel fish pattern, if you look at other Atlas shakers she had alot of animal designs
Happy New Year Kevin and totally appreciate your wonderful comment about the Hazel Atlas shaker, so cool that you have alot of her glass pieces in your kitchen she made such terrific products & now they are highly collectible. Very creative and she had a sense of humor - saw one glass with astrology symbols for Pisces (yes, my angel fish shaker would be a great gift for a Piscean!) and Sagittarius, the slogan was "eat like a horse (Sag) and drink like a fish (Pisc)" lol, would love to get that one :)

Mary your friend in San Diego was lucky to receive your 1940s cocktail shaker that is such a rare collectible gift & very nice of you. Nowadays they sell plain steel or aluminum shakers, just utility type & so boring. I think the art of a shaken drink is rather passe, they seem to take the lazy way out either stirring or putting drinks in a quick blender, bring back those James Bond "shaken not stirred" martinis!!
Lol Karen, it was tres stylish to have a shaken drink back in the day, I liked margaritas with the salt rim, best ones I ever had were on a Mexican vacay, of course they did them best! Thank you for your super cool comment, and on a metaphoric note let's shake up this New Year, we've gotta get it going so we're all in a good place health wise - our NY guv is dragging his feet as usual on that vaccine :(
