I found this sweet 30"x52" rug a few months ago in Missouri. Of course I wanted it because of the bird motifs. It's not perfect, needs cleaning and I might put on the back of my couch or wall. It's a Zapotec wool rug from the region of Oaxaca Mexico, 1980's-90's. Pictures 2 and 3 show true color, but I wanted to share sunset at the beach tonight with people out there enjoying.

You have an excellent view.
Thanks Fort - it is a cool place to live. Despite looking out at the oil refinery island. Sad that our building put up this black metal fence so we can't enjoy our private patio down on the beach anymore.
Wow, nice back yard! Nice rug too...
Wonderful rug and outstanding view!!
The size and colour to me means made for a wall. I have a tea towel that has the crown jewels of England on it. Not sure what to do with that. I think someone washed it before I got it, however no damage from that. Love your beach view, and this rug reminds me of an old friend I lost touch with who made things with her loom, love to you !~
Phil - actually, this is a rug, thick weave and the right size that is popular for the tourist market. I have been down to Mexico and bought a few that were not as nice as this.
I want that view! How I miss the ocean and the smell, and the waves crashing on the beach lolling me to sleep at night!
Oh, and the rug is beautiful too!
Eileen - I forget how great this is. I tend to think about the problems like NO parking and constant electrical issues like internet and refrigerator. Well, that's my life at a 96 yr old bldg. that has this amazing view - I should remember everyday. Thank you! And because of the 1940's sea wall there is no sound of crashing waves. That would probably be a much higher rent. :-)
