A. Hill & Co LTD of Birmingham, England - this is an antiqued pewter Skein Dhu Brooch with coloured glass stones, Secures to a garment by way of a pin with locking, safety catch. (this is from the Miracle website).
there are two USA company's - Shiman Bros & S. Samuel & Co. - that use the Miracle trademark.

Yes I too did learn with this piece, I am Scottish (and Russian) so the interest was definitely there when I bough the lot, I have several more from Miracle that will follow, thanks for your comment - and I hope your brain doesn't hurt too long.
