Actually it is 2 3/8" tall. Anyway after buying people boxes full of rocks I got some of my own. I actually already have some rocks but I can always use more especially if they are small.
As for selenite it is a crystal. They are the largest crystals known. The largest known one is 55 tons. They are known for their healing powers because they look cool. Boring rocks don't have healing power.
As for the more scientific definition it is a form a gypsum which is calcium sulfate dihydrate aka CaSO4·2H2O. Yes there is water in there bonded to all those other molecules. Basically it is a crystal.
The next rock will be a Red Calcite Cluster.
'cool' definitely has more power than 'boring'! you've made a somewhat dry post interesting and cool!
