Does anyone know what this is? And/or what is was used for? I came a cross it and had to buy it because it was so interesting and different, but I can’t figure out what it would have been used for. The pegs on top are moveable and there are numbers on the brass circles ranging from 40 - 4000?

Try Googling 'old decade resistance box' and see if you might find something similar -- otherwise my guess is some variety of antique electronics test/repair equipment.
NEAT ITEM -- I'd have certainly snagged it too if I had the chan$e... ;-)
