Today I expanded the collection of my flying animal friends with a cicada bug brooch. Gold painted and decorated with marcasites. Measure 2.36”/6 cm.
Two of the most special brooches are the Art Deco/Art Nouveau “Flying” Sterling Silver Cicada and the Rare Cicada Plique-à-Jour Silver Brooch, approx. 1920 France.
As can be seen in the pictures my flying friends reside on a very old piece of white coral (photo 4).
