This is a Chinese Opium travelling box in Paktong (Baitong). Each piece is signed with Chinese ideograms. Is somebody can help me to estimate the age of this antiques I’ve bought in an antique shop 15 years ago in Shanghai?

That’s what the seller told me (Baitong in Chinese) and after many research it seems that old opium travel box are in this metal, a mix of nickel, zing and copper. It’s quite heavy for the size and the inside is reddish copper colour as it seems it,s the best material to keep the opium.

Lovely piece. It is missing the domed glass chimney for the burner. I suspect it is anywhere from the very late 19th century up until 1940 as the writing is not in the older archaic style.
