I'm going through my father's WWII military memorabilia and have been having a challenge to identify this pin. My father was in the Army Service Forces stationed in the Southern Command. There is, of course, an outside chance that this pin is not related to his service, but somehow got mixed in with his other pins/patches. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Scott, thank you so much for helping me identify this. What you say makes a lot of sense as my father was a scientist working on chemical warfare during the war.
