Had some nice local finds today...this Welz basket is one of them, & I hope it brings a little enjoyment to all the basket fans out there.
It is made from three layers of cased glass - clear over a swirling spatter in yellow, light orange, & pink, with a white interior.
The basket measures around 18 cm tall including handle, 14.5 cm wide across, & 7.5 cm across the base, which has been ground.
There is a clear applied thorn handle with a twisted loop at the top. The body of the basket has a swirling ribbed pattern that goes in the opposite direction to the swirled spatter, for that extra - busy Welz style. Top rim features a fancy double crimp.
This decor also matches another item I have...will post a photo of them together shortly.
More spatter glass goodness to follow as well...
