A final conclusion to understand how this Harrach pitcher shape was produced with a few design shifts that came in 50 variants. (fig.1)

This research began with the discovery of a 1890 Harrach chart with types of pattern for shaded Floret glass from the latest Neuwelt/Harrach book. (fig.2)

While discovering many same and similar embossed pitcher shapes with different shaped rims, this popular shape was produced in a number of sizes and certainly had its fair share of design shifts with being in production for a number of years. How long? It's not clear. There's a Montgomery Wards advertisement from 1891-92 and the advertised decor of the embossed rib pitcher shape was sold as, Purperina which is basically described as what most collector's consider Amberina glass. (fig.3)

This interesting topic of conversation has been an ongoing project since 2016 with a number of rewarding surprises in the Bohemian Art Glass group. Many collectors of this group have helped contribute examples and there is much appreciation with thanks to those who have shared their examples and other research material.

The Admin. of the Bohemian Art Glass group has taken much time and care to share the most important documentation needed to understand and give an explanation for the different shape shifts by providing the actual line drawings from the Harrach archives. To preview this exclusive documentation, the Harrach line drawings can be seen in the Bohemian Art Glass group on FB.

Special Thanks, to Carrie for creating the beautiful collage photo.

Hopefully, by bringing this outstanding research material together, everyone can easily find this posting accurate and informative. It's an incredible accomplishment to find this MANY decors from Harrach and most importantly, it's all documented.

That price seems unheard of, we live in a time now of much inflation, cannot even imagine what a set like this would be today !~
