This Bohemian Art Glass Jardinière is decorated with colourful applied floral motifs, and hand painted dragonflies, butterflies, and Forget-Me-Not flowers. Blown of cased shaded glass. The interior side of the rim begins with a Robin Egg Blue colour spreading to a creamy Custard colour. Only the vase and applied flowers glow under a UV light.
With so much going on, the applied flowers with branches and leaves have some missing petals on both sides of the bowl. Even one of the applied branches that serves as the footed base has a repair. Forgiving to me, because I don't think another example is going to be found anytime soon. Beautifully hand painted. The polychrome enameling with brushed gold accents is adorned throughout. Even the applied glass motifs have hand painted gold accents. Polished pontil on the base with painted (gold) numbers, 3740.
From Harrach or this is a Harrach blank decorated by Moser. Circa. 1880's.
From handle to handle, 8-1/2" long.
The rim is 6" diameter.
Thanks, so much for looking!
